I am going to engage in a venture that will take me via bicycle from San Diego, CA to Vancouver, BC (see map). This 1400 mile journey will bring me up the West Coast, through the Pacific Northwest and into Canada. The event is to raise funds for animals in need of emergency or ongoing veterinary care. I ask for your support to achieve this most important goal. Your generous tax-deductible donations will go directly to a separate fund, used strictly for veterinary care for the animals chosen. Ride For Life Foundation: Introduction

RIDE FOR LIFE FOUNDATION
By: Elliot Rover
My Mission is to help alleviate some of financial hardships that occur when a canine companion falls ill with disease or unforeseen traumatic events. These financial constraints, be it temporary, or otherwise, may leave a person, family or shelter with difficult decisions regarding life and death of our canine companions, and faithful members of our family.
The focus of this foundation in conjunction with The San Diego Animal Support Foundation is offer needy dog owners/shelter dogs an alternative to euthanasia when their pet faces a treatable life threatening condition.
In my effort to address this most important need I am going to engage in a venture that will take me via Bicycle from San Diego, CA to Vancouver, BC. This 1400 mile journey will bring me up the West Coast, through the Pacific Northwest and into Canada. There will be planned stops along the way at animal Shelters so to promote awareness of these situations and to give hope and options to those in financial crisis. This event will take place during the month of September 2008.
Through personal experience and hearing/viewing some of these stories, I feel that this is my way to help and give back to those with financial setbacks and allowing for the veterinary care that our dogs and cats so desperately need. I hope to give someone piece of mind and avoid what may be unnecessary euthanasia.
I ask for you support to achieve this most important goal. Your generous tax-deductible donations will go directly to a separate fund, used strictly for veterinary care for the canines chosen. These funds will be critical for those dogs who are in need of extended care as well. This is a non-profit venture and all donations will be tax deductable to the extent provided by law.
I invite you to find out more about my "RIDE FOR LIFE "at www.sdshelters.com. Sincerely, Elliot Rover
